Lauren Hirai is a product designer who creates experiences to help people and the planet.

She has always loved experimenting with different materials and media—paper, wood, clay, metal, fiber. What can we learn from them? Her fascination with materials and design in the natural world led her to become an experimental physics researcher, designing novel materials for industrial and architectural applications.

Having experience in both programming and visual design, she gravitated towards interactive and digital media to tackle contemporary challenges. Her approach blends analytical, and creative thinking, always with a sense of curiosity about systems, collaboration, and behavior.
